This month’s newsletter features some of San Diego’s exciting street festivals, food events, and Halloween activities. Get into the Halloween Spirit and check out a few of these activities, sure to scare the bravest of people.

Scream Zone Del Mar: September 30 – October 31
Open Saturday and Sunday from 7pm-midnight. Scream Zone is San Diego’s largest and scariest haunted attraction. The Scaregrounds, home to The Scream Zone, encompasses more than five acres at the Del Mar Fairgrounds featuring a huge House of Horror with rooms filled with terrifying scenes and scares lurking at every turn, a one-of-a-kind Haunted Hayride through the haunted barns on the race track, and The Chamber with the largest spinning tunnel in San Diego. Beware of ghouls, zombies & monsters!

The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park: September 30 – October 31

The Haunted Trail is a stroll through the park you will never forget. Enter the mile-long trail through the twisted grove of pines and gnarled oaks. Visitors, watch your back, you’ll never know which way the terror will follow you! Experience an outdoor terror that is simply too big to house indoors. This year The Haunted Trail features an additional maze called “The eXperiment.”

Located downtown in the Gaslamp District is the longest-running haunted house in San Diego. It was named by Haunt World Magazine as one of the top 13 haunted houses in America and has been featured in “America Haunts IV” on the Travel Channel. The horror-filled nights run through Halloween. The Haunted Hotel is packed full of spine-tingling, heart pounding effects that are so real, they will keep you screaming for your life as you try to find your way out.

Live Like a Local: Monthly San Diego News from The Event Team

A monthly shout-out to our wonderful Hotel Partners:

Happy September! We can’t believe the summer flew by so quickly! This month’s newsletter features some of San Diego’s newest eateries, in honor of San Diego Restaurant Week. We encourage you to go out on the town and treat your taste buds to something new. Don’t forget to give us your feedback!
Burlap (Del Mar)
With the success of Searsucker, chef Brian Malarkey has opened his second restaurant in Carmel Valley. Burlap promises to be another exciting experiment in social dining and is destined to become the new “it” spot in San Diego. The restaurant and lounge serves “Asian Cowboy” cuisine in an eclectic environment and offers the perfect mix of global sophistication and local cool. The menu is said to offer a hybrid of meat (raw, cooked and rotisserie), seafood, and bold sides with an Asian influence.
Donovan’s Prime Seafood (Gaslamp)
Donovan’s Prime Seafood upholds the same high standards of service and cuisine as its Downtown and La Jolla Steak and Chophouse counterpoints. As the latest addition to the Donovan’s family of restaurants, Donovan’s Prime Seafood specializes in serving the freshest sustainable seafood and shellfish on the market. The restaurant couples its commitment to sustainably sourced seafood with its promise to use local produce and ingredients. What results from such thoughtful practices is a distinguished and flavorful menu served up in an equally sophisticated and charming dining space. Classic in design, the Donovan’s Prime dining room suites its downtown location and urban vibe brilliantly. Whether diving into a serving of Alaskan King Crab Legs in the dining room or sipping from a Georgia Peach at the bar, Donovan’s Prime Seafood is the place to sample quality.
Company Pub and Kitchen (Poway)
This new restaurant holds a special place in our hearts (and tummies) because it is owned and operated by former Event Team Operations Manager Peter Green (you know, that charming English bloke). Now open in Poway, Company Pub and Kitchen is a great pub serving Anglo-Californian comfort food. Bringing you the experience of a true gastropub, with the perfect partnership of a friendly local pub and the comfort cuisine, presented with a contemporary twist.
