Full Time Employee of the Quarter – Bill Yahres, VP Business Development

First up, Bill Yahres is our full time employee of the quarter! Here at The Event Team since 1993, Bill is a veteran among San Diego event planners. (Coincidentally, he’s a also a U.S. Veteran).

“I’ve been impressed with Bill over the last few months,” said President Matt Robbins. “He’s had great success going after Convention business and has proven that his methods work. Also, he shows great leadership and helps broaden our DMC network.”

Field Staff Employee of the Quarter – Holly Kromroy

Second on our list of winners is Holly Kromroy. Though a relative newbie to The Event Team field staff, Holly has proven herself as an invaluable asset to the Operations Department. We can always rely on her outgoing personality, professionalism, and promptness. Furthermore, Holly’s cheerful onsite demeanor and quick troubleshooting skills give us confidence in the success of every program she works.

Next up, Lou Cirelli, National Sales Manager at Hilton San Diego Resort. “Lou has been a pleasure to work with, and is always available and ready to assist,” said Lauren Ross, National Sales Manager at The Event Team. “He is willing to go the extra mile to accommodate requests, and always has his client’s best interests at heart.”

2016 Fourth Quarter Awards Announced

Romy leads the company in sales, but she also leads in other ways. Besides managing her own accounts, she also creates sales strategies, trains and mentors her colleagues, facilitates meeetings, and more. “Romy had a fabulous year,” said President/CEO Matt Robbins. “She has been an integral part of our team for nearly 15 years and continues to evolve in her position. Marnie continues to be a pillar of the The Event Team field staff. When she is assigned to an event, she always arrives on time, with a happy, positive attitude and always goes above and beyond to make sure the guests and clients have a great experience. VP of Operations Paige Weeber sings Marnie’s praises: “It doesn’t matter if it is a small Gaslamp transfer or a huge off-site event; Marnie ensures that everyone has a good time to and from an event. We love all our hotel partners, but this quarter Khoa Hoang from Westin San Diego was particularly exceptional. “Khoa is a very detail-oriented convention services manager and a tremendous pleasure to work with,” said National Sales Manager Steve Larson. “She is very informative about her clients’ needs and always available at a moment’s notice!” Thank you Khoa for trusting The Event Team to work with you and your clients – you can count on us!

Third Quarter CSR Project Update

As we head into the last quarter of The Event Team DMC’s 2016 Can-Do Give Back Program, we wanted to give you an update on our progress! This year, The Event Team committed to donating two non-perishable food items to a local Southern California food bank for every program we run in 2016. In the second quarter our running total was 138 events (276 items donated). After the third quarter, we’re up to 174 events and 348 items to be donated so far! We’re hoping to reach our 2016 goal of 500 donated food items with a fourth quarter push for business coupled with our holiday party food drive. Special thanks to all our clients for helping us give back to our communities – we couldn’t do it without you!

The Event Team – Can Do Give Back Project 2nd Quarter Tally

Second Quarter CSR Project Update

If you haven’t been following along with The Event Team DMC’s 2016 Can-Do Give Back Program, allow us to catch you up to speed! This year, The Event Team committed to donating two non-perishable food items to a local Southern California food bank for every program we run in 2016. Our first quarter results showed that our destination management company operated 70 events from January through March, resulting in a 140-item tally! This quarter, we’re happy to announce that we added 68 (and counting) events to the books, which increases the running total to 276 items. We are well on our way to our 2016 goal of 500 food items donated! We’d like to take this time to thank all of our valued clients for giving The Event Team an opportunity to give back to our community in this meaningful way.
