The Event Team – First Quarter Awards Announced

Every quarter, The Event Team takes a moment to honor a select a few “super people” who have demonstrated exceptional service, professionalism and attitude over the last few months. We know we wouldn’t be anywhere without those who are committed to making our destination management company a success across the industry. That is why we not only honor our internal staff, but also other valuable partners within the Southern California hospitality field. Check out this quarter’s winning crew:

Full Time Employee of the Quarter: Marcie Booth, Operations Manager (Los Angeles, CA)

This award is particularly special because it is based on a vote, which means the recipients are not only great at their jobs, but also earn the respect and admiration of their colleagues. “Marcie has grown tremendously in her role,” reports Los Angeles General Manager Geraldine Caedo. “This quarter, she successfully operated multiple successive programs including one during which she chauffeured the client around for nearly 100 miles over the course of 4 days. She is emerging as a genuine leader in our office.” Paige Weeber, VP of Operations, agrees: “She’s managed multiple groups and events with little lead time, is always professional with clients, and has the respect of our field staff. Marcie produced and ran a GREAT staff forum in L.A. and shows great potential for expanding the Operations team in Los Angeles.” The Event Team’s President Matt Robbins echoed, “From the day Marcie arrived she took control and responsibility for all the programs run in Los Angeles. She has matured into a very detail-oriented Operations Manager who is loved by clients, vendors, and her staff.” Click here to learn more about Marcie!

Hotelier of the Quarter: Crystal Masters, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay (San Diego, CA)

Crystal has been a FoTET (friend of The Event Team) for many years, most recently  working with our National Sales Manager Steve Larson on some great transportation, off-site, and teambuilding leads. “Crystal is a very upbeat and positive sales person,” said Steve. “She is always thinking of The Event Team and likes to include us in everything she does to try and win the business!” Crystal is one of the many reasons we enjoy partnering with the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay; she is a true professional and a pleasure to work with!

Employee of the Quarter: Ric Brandt (San Diego, CA)

Ric has been with The Event Team since the beginning and has many roles within the company. He is our “go to” guy in Operations for all things patriotic and physical. We recently had a run of clients that wanted volleyball set up, and we always called on Ric to make sure it was done correctly. He is also our resident expert on Military trivia about San Diego; clients constantly rave about his city tour and tours on the USS Midway. This past quarter, we put Ric to work in a variety of roles and he took on each assignment with a great attitude. Ric also trained some new staff without being asked because that is the team player he is. Thank you Ric for jumping in every time we need you!
