It’s always a fun challenge to stay on top of Southern California’s ever-changing landscape of venues and activities. At The Event Team (a leading DMC for San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles County events) we devote entire portions of our weekly staff meetings to discuss new tours, restaurant openings, and industry trends in the area. We also schedule frequent site visits to get a feel for these venues and activities in person. Sure, it’s a fantastic work perk, but the bottom line is we want to ensure that our proposals include the most current and creative options and that our guests have the best possible experience while visiting our destinations. On that note, here are a few new and/or noteworthy venues and activities we are excited to offer:
San Diego Restaurants and Venues:
Café Gratitude: This popular 100% organic plant-based restaurant chain recently opened its first San Diego location on Kettner Blvd. in Little Italy, just a couple blocks away from the beautiful Waterfront Park. Café Gratitude is known for creating a menu and environment that supports health and sustainability for both the community and the planet. Our friends at San Diego Magazine hit the nail on the head when they called Café Gratitude “yoga for your mouth.”
Why we love it: It just makes sense for a venue of this caliber to exist in our health-conscious destination. We think a sunrise yoga session at the park followed by a delicious brunch at Café Gratitude would make for a fantastic feel-good spouse tour.
Coasterra: Cohn Restaurant group has done it again, this time with Coasterra, located on the San Diego Bay directly across from downtown San Diego. Offering over 28,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor events space that can accommodate up to 1,400 guests, Coasterra is sure to be a major player in the San Diego corporate events industry.
Why we love it: Delicious modern Mexican cuisine, group-friendly venue, and views that won’t quit. What’s not to love?
Los Angeles Venues and Activities:
The Petersen Automotive Museum – Behind the Scenes Vault Tour
After a two-year renovation, the Petersen Automotive Museum will open its newly designed location in December of 2015, that will feature dynamic redesigned exterior by Kohn Pedersen and a new interior featuring 22 new exhibit galleries.
Why we love it: The new 75-minute “Behind the Scenes” Vault Tour, an exclusive tour of the underground storage Vault of the Museum to see over 100 years of automotive history, paired with an private cocktail reception or dinner on the Penthouse & Terrace level, would be an once in a lifetime experience for any group.
Fashionista Tour: Rodeo Drive Shopping with a Celebrity Stylist
Led by our Celebrity Stylist guide, guests will learn the ins and outs of Beverly Hills shopping with a special private VIP tour of stores on Rodeo Drive. Guests will be escorted into luxury stores such as Gucci, Louie Vuitton, and Prada to not only shop, but to get fashion & style advice from our Celebrity Stylist. After the tour, the group can opt to take a short walk to an exclusive dining experience at celebrity-owned Villa Blanca.
Why we love it: What fashion-lover wouldn’t want to have their very own Pretty Woman experience at one of the most iconic shopping locations in the world?
