January: Month of Matt – Part 2

As you may have read in our previous post, we have dubbed January as the “Month of Matt.” Our last blog featured an interview with Matt; now it’s time to find out what his colleagues think about him!

“I love having Matt as a boss because he is great at empowering his employees and will stand behind them 100%.  And if you get into a bind – he will help you get out of it without making you feel worse about it.”
Paige Weeber, VP of Operations

“Matt has been a close friend and mentoring employer for over 25 years, and the ride has been both successful and enjoyable with many laughs along the way!  One of my favorite memories was wrapping up a program at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN, and watching Matt kick a Monster Ball across the field resulting in a broken toe.  Still makes me laugh after all these years!”
Bill Yahres, VP of Sales & Marketing

“Matt’s got history as a practical joker. When I first started with TET in the nineties it was late in the year, time for the company holiday party. So I donned my best holiday duds and headed down to a subterranean night spot in the Gaslamp. By the time I arrived the party was in full swing. One of the first full-timers I encountered pressed a “scratcher” in my hand – a gift from Matt. Not being much of a risk taker, I was delighted – a chance to win big without risking a single shekel of my own. I scratched off the numbers . . . and couldn’t quite believe my eyes! The ticket read that I’d won $10,000. Wow! I lead a clean life . . . why COULDN’T fortune knock on my door!? I immediately shared my good luck with other guests, only to realize that EVERYONE got tickets . . . they were all winners!   Of course they were – and still are!”
Dick Burson, National Sales Manager

“Matt is definitely the best boss I’ve ever had. While many CEO-types can only see the bottom line, Matt understands that people are more important than numbers. He has the ability to balance good business sense and leadership with compassion and respect for his employees, which goes such a long way in making his company so successful.”
Lindsay White, Director of Sales & Marketing
